Online Harassment of Politically-Active Women: An Overview

    Online harassment is used by both states and non-state actors to deliberately shrink the space in which politically-active women use digital technologies to express themselves, politically organise or carry out their work. Hence, they face a unique set of challenges both online and offline that is a direct consequence of their gender identity and participation in political struggles. In this overview we analyze these challenges to energize critical debate and contribute to the design of gender specific remedies and responses.
